Video Presentations
Video Presentations
There are various philosophies, learning theories, historical, cultural, and political considerations that may serve as the foundation for curriculum plans and designs. You are tasked to create a 3-10-minute video presentation on your assigned topic. The presentation should incorporate a discussion of your assigned topic and how these contribute or influence curriculum development and planning. A specific example of a curriculum should be used to show how the assigned topic has influenced its design, structure, or implementation.
Procedure
- At the beginning of the semester, you were asked to choose from the following topics you would like to create a video presentation for. The topics include:
VP 1: Philosophical Foundations (Perennialism & Essentialism)
VP 2: Philosophical Foundations (Progressivism, Reconstructionism, & Constructivism)
VP 3: Psychological Foundations (Learning theories of Behaviorism & Cognitivism)
VP 4: Psychological Foundations (Learning theories of Humanism, Social Learning, & Experiential Learning)
VP 5: Socio-Cultural Foundations
VP 6: Historical Foundations
VP 7: Political & Environmental Foundations
- Search for and study materials for your chosen topic and create a video presentation using any format that you feel will be most effective in sharing the content with your classmates. You are free to decide how best this can be presented. Be as creative as you can.
You are free to use any presentation format, but make sure that the final output is a video of the presentation which should not exceed 10 minutes. Save your outputs in mp4 format following file name: HP211_VP[VP Number]_[surname]_[month day submitted]
Example: HP211_VP4_grageda_Oct20
- Share your video in this discussion thread.
- Watch the other presentations and provide comments to the videos of the others. Be sure to comment on all the videos.
