Stress during the pandemic

Stress during the pandemic

I felt frustrated initially when people who are mentors and friends succumbed to the virus from the lack of preparation of the government & lack of PPEs. Some of them died and thankfully others recovered from weeks in the ICU.

The fear of contracting the virus also brought added stress so I joined my Med school classmates in coordinating donations to protect our residents & staff in different hospitals. Keeping myself busy and helping others kept me sane.

I have now accepted the virus is still here and that we are now in the new normal and that we have to keep ourselves fit and better equipped to fight this virus!

Dear Christine,
Seeing mentors and friends sickened and killed by the virus is one of the most dreadful effects of this pandemic.
While the experience was stressful, it's inspiring how you turned the fear into action: by helping others :-)
Yes, I think we have to accept that we will be living with this virus for some time...and having accepted this, we do the best we can to keep ourselves healthy (and sane!)

warm regards,
emma
