When I was a 2nd year as a medical student in the Physical Diagnosis class, I had difficulty in performing the funduscopic examination because of a wrong technique or overly conscious in performing the task. The clinical teacher never gave up on me and had me performed the examination several times until I got the technique correctly and be able to report my findings.
In the real world clinical setting, each student may differ in how they can easily perform a specific skill. The task of the clinical teacher is to identify students who might need extra coaching in order to correctly perform a task. This will be very valuable and memorable to students and will have a good impact in the pursuit of their goals in health profession.
