The video was helpful when it comes to facilitating the student's journey in clinical education. One of the main takeaways in the video was to ensure that the students are well-oriented in terms of the learning outcomes and in the clinical education. The clinical educator must be clear in managing what their expectations are for the students. It is also important to establish the clinical learning environment which refers to the setting to where the student applies their knowledge and skills in real-life nursing situations. This does not only refer to the physical setup but also includes other factors such as organizational, social and psychological that can influence the student's learning and professional development. In this regards, the importance of a psychologically safe and supportive environment was also mentioned in the video in order for the learner to take more risks and benefit from the learning experience. Turning all opportunities into a learning opportunity was also mentioned as well as the importance of providing constructive feedback to the student.

One of the challenges that I have encountered when it comes to giving feedback is when the the feels defensive of the feedback and takes it as an evaluation and as if the person  is being graded or judged whenever feedback is given. To overcome this, I tell the person that this is not to judge him/her, not to grade the person but to provide constructive feedback that will be helpful for learning and personal growth. I advise the person not to take it negatively but to turn it into a learning opportunity whenever feedback is given for self-improvement

Hi Mam Jex!
Your reflection clearly highlights the key points from the video, especially the significance of setting clear expectations and fostering a psychologically safe environment. I agree that feedback can be challenging when it's misinterpreted as judgment. Reassuring students that feedback is meant to support their growth, and not to evaluate their worth, is a great approach. Framing feedback as part of a collaborative learning process really helps students become more open and reflective, turning even difficult conversations into meaningful learning experiences.
