An effective supervisor should be constantly communicating with the supervisees, an active listener, open minded, firm, friendly, providing guidance and feedback, adhere to the schedule/timeline in monitoring the progress of the work of the supervisees. My experience of research supervision is that I have difficulty in guiding the supervisees in their work especially in the statistical analysis portion. I can relate some of the findings of this study that sometimes I tend to impose solutions to the supervisees.
