The presentation opens our eyes, doctors, that we are obliged to look beyond the medical aspect of our patients and more importantly, their psychological and emotional states. Our patients should not be treated for their illness only but their psychological needs should be attended to as well. Furthermore, the pandemic has seriously affected the economic conditions of many informal settlers who have lost their jobs and are suffering from hunger and starvation. Their economic dislocation has wrought about pain and anguish, anxiety and insecurities, today, and which will certainly last for a long time, with the economy gone awry. We as doctors and health professionals are challenged to address these emotional and economic  turmoil of our patients as well. The quality of life will always be affected by economic and even political environments. The government and what it has done, it is doing and has failed to do, or must do, greatly affects the people's quality of life. And we health professionals have a tremendous role to play, beyond being health service providers.
