Yes I am. Whether acting in a formal or informal capacity, being a mentor is part of a teacher's role or responsibility to our students. Without knowing it, we are performing this role to our learners - helpful or unhelpful it may be. But to become a better and more effective mentor, we should buy into the process and actively engage with our students and be involved in their development both personally and professionally. Maintaining an open line of communication and giving adequate and regular feedbacks and reflections is key to becoming a great mentor.
I agree with these qualities of a mentor. If I may add, a mentor can also be someone who can be emulated because of his or her achievements
