Having a checklist has it's pros, it's very easy to use and if you have a lot of students, you will not get easily tired while using it. However, it is not recommendable to do it at the end of day, for you may have forgotten small details of which student did what, it should have been used during or immediately after each student. Even better if the checklist comes with a comments section for descriptive feedback.

Also, I don't agree to having a group grade to SGDs, whether it's formative or summative, because each individual student performs differently, and each has their own strengths and weaknesses to work on.

Checklists are designed to be easy to accomplish. However, if made too long, it becomes a burden to the assessors. Streamlining our assessment instruments can help improve assessment processes.
