1. Choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept and cite how would you apply this learning in your everyday life.
- A concept that I have observed to be applicable in everyday life is the immunity given by vaccinations. A most recent example would be the COVID-19 vaccinations wherein antibody-mediated immunity can be recognized. The vaccination involves a part of the virus injected into our body to stimulate our immune system. After our body is exposed to these antigens, B lymphocytes then produce the antibodies necessary for the mechanism of antibody-mediated immunity. After the clonal selection, and antibody production of the body, memory cells would be produced which is the reason why we are immune as the body easily recognizes the specific antigen to neutralize, immobilize, and phagocytosed in the future.
