Overall, this was a bad assessment. Although it might be a valid assessment, it being developed by the training committee and used by all faculty, feasibility might be questionable, being 5-pages too long. Reliability and equivalence is also a question if the teacher does not uniformly grade the interns on the same competencies achieved. Each student being an individual with different learning capacities, the catalytic and educational effect of the assessment is lost as feedback was given as a group. Also pointing out one's shortcomings in front of an audience might not be the best motivator for learning.
The clinical teacher might want to have the assessment tool reevaluated as to feasibility, predetermine certain areas to be assessed on the same day for all the interns, provide feedback in real-time and individually for it to be effective and have catalytic effect on learning.
