Describing myself, teaching is something I enjoy doing for the last 17 years. I handle medical students, interns and residents. I believe that being empathic and engaged with my students have what kept me going through the years. I always consider their point-view and where they are coming from in deciding on content, approach and delivery of my syllabi, and in constructing items in my exams. I consider it my responsibility to balance quality assurance, justice and compassion in the evaluation of students for promotion. After all these years, it is still both a rewarding and frustrating challenge.

I agree that empathy is very important. We should be flexible and sensitive to student needs. Experience plays a big role here.
