At the end of this one-month rotation in Neurology and Psychiatry (Department of Neuroscience and Behavioral Medicine), the clinical clerks should be able to:

COMPETENCE

COGNITIVE

C1. Analyze clinical cases in Neurology and Psychiatry properly through a systematic approach to patients with Neurologic and Psychiatric conditions.

C2. Formulate under guidance.  a cost-effective and rational diagnostic framework for cases and patients seen and examined.

C3. Prescribe, under guidance a rational treatment strategy consistent with current local and international guidelines.

C4. Correlate laboratory and ancillary procedures result with the clinical presentation of the patients.

PSYCHOMOTOR

P1. Perform a comprehensive Neurological Examination to all patients seen at the OPD and at the ER.

P2. Conduct an ethical and complete psychiatric interview to patients admitted at the San Lorenzo/Psychiatry Ward.

P3. Accomplish the appropriate rating scales (stroke scales, depression scales, anxiety scales, etc.) for patients seen at the OPD and ER.

P4 Utilize medical informatics, web-based learning strategies and other available resources suitably in the care for patients.
