A concept from this lesson that I can apply to my daily life is how stress can negatively affect our immune system. As a college student, the large amount of workload from school normally causes stress. It also became a habit for me to not eat at the right time, sleep very late, and not exercise regularly because of the overwhelming feeling of academic stress. The nervous, endocrine, and immune systems are connected with each other which is why there is a higher chance of contracting illnesses due to decreased immunity. Learning this concept made me realize the importance of proper stress management, having a balanced diet, and getting enough sleep in strengthening our immune system.
