Choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept and cite how you would apply this learning in your everyday life.

As much as we are fast in responding to sudden surprises, our body is also fast in responding to sudden attacks from foreign materials in our body. One of the concepts I would like to share is the inflammation response of our body, which is defined as the body’s response to injury (Tortora, 2014). It mandatorily occurs in three stages, with its stage essential for the tissue to be successfully repaired. We expect a worsened condition if it does not undergo even one stage. These three stages happen to all people, with our body responding to the injury from different causes, except for those who experience diseases that prevent their immune system from functioning readily.

However, with all this in mind, it is also essential to consider that people have different responses to pain experienced. Our internal body may be doing the same procedure to heal our injuries, yet we have different sensitivity levels. Some people may react to their injuries as something normal; maybe they are already used to it since they are prone to accidents or did not notice it right away when it was fresh. However, some may cry because of abrasions and scratches. Indeed, our knowledge of how inflammation happens aids in our understanding of the patients we will handle in the future.
