Activity 4. Feedback Mechanism
Give other examples of disturbances in the internal environment that can act as a stimulus to a feedback mechanism.
The contact between the baby and the ovary wall stimulates a feedback mechanism since the brain perceives it as a signal. Thus, it stimulates the pituitary to secrete oxytocin that is responsible for muscle contraction. This disturbance and the secretion of the hormone causes the cervix to dilate, allowing the baby come out. Other examples are the regulation of blood glucose level, and blood clotting.
