Give other examples of disturbances in the internal environment that can act as a stimulus to a feedback mechanism.

- The increase in blood sugar level after consuming sugary foods encourages the pancreas to secrete insulin. The presence of insulin can lower a body’s blood sugar level as the insulin converts the sugar into energy that can be utilized by the cells.

- Our bodies react to the environment’s temperature as sweat is released after being in a hot room and shivering occurs when situated in cold temperatures. Sweat can lower the body’s temperature and shivering can warm the body up.

- The difference in blood pressure makes the heart react accordingly. As the blood pressure rises, the heart obtains signals from the brain and eventually reduces the rate at which the heart beats to regulate the environment.
