TASK #1. Reflection on "My Developmental Timeline/ Journey"
ACTIVITY GUIDE NO. 1
My Developmental Timeline/Journey
Introduction: There are many theories about Growth and Development. Its important for a teacher to have a healthy appreciation of these different theories, because we are dealing with persons (and trying to influence them) who are in different stages of their developmental journey. But before we go into analyzing other people’s journeys…let us start by remembering our own. And to ask questions about why they are significant to me, what lessons are there in this which I will need as a teacher?
Task: To trace the milestones in your developmental journey, and reflect on their significance
Procedure:
1. As far as you can recall (or maybe you have heard from your parents and relatives), write all your qualities, abilities (can do/say), weaknesses (can’t do/say), significant experiences/information when you were:
-Being conceived up to the time you were born
-Born up to two (2) years old
-Three (3) to six (6) years old
-Seven (7) to ten (10) years old
-Twelve (11) to fourteen (14) years old
-Fifteen (15) to seventeen (17) years old
-Eighteen (18) to twenty-one (21) years old
-Twenty-two (22) to twenty-five (25) years old
-Twenty-six (26) to twenty-nine (29) years old
-Thirty (30) to thirty-three (33) years old
-Thirty-four (34) to thirty-seven (37) years old
-Thirty-eight (38) onwards
2. Choose which among those abilities/ experiences/ qualities/ weaknesses/ information, etc. are worth sharing.
3. Why is it worth sharing? What lesson/s did you get from it? How did this influence your life (personal/school/career) now?
4. Make an infographic or any graphic representation of your Developmental Journey. It shall be your first official entry in your Learning Journal!
