  1. Utilize HPEd concepts and terminology appropriately in oral and written communications

Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Discuss the basic concepts, principles, and theories of educational research especially in the context of health professions education
  2. Discuss the significance of a selected research problem
  3. Formulate good research objectives
  4. Conduct an effective review of literature
  5.  Create a configuration of the conceptual framework for a research study
  6. Choose a research design for a given study objective
  7. Select subjects for a chosen research design
  8. Perform sample size calculation for a given study
  9. Select methods for collecting data
  10. Design tools for data collection
  11. Ensure compliance to ethical standards in developing a research proposal
  12. Design a plan for analysis of data in research
