Pointers in giving feedback

1. Modify according to recipient's level of learning. Use simple terms as necessary.

2. Allow for response and interaction. Give time for learner to take in the feedback and ask if there are questions.

3. Choose appropriate language.

4. Give accurate and irrefutable information.

5. Do it as soon as the session ends if possible.

6. Make use of a variety of methods eg. demonstrations, videos, written, audio

7. Include moderate amount of positive feedback and limited amount of negative feedback. 

8. Focus on behavior not the person; describe not evaluate.

9.Negative/corrective behavior should be given in private.

10. Be sensitive to the recipient's self-esteem.
