I have not personally witnessed any colleague committing research misconduct through the use of ChatGPT or AI. However, I have encountered conversations about how some individuals might depend too heavily on these tools to generate academic work without proper acknowledgment. These discussions made me more aware of the ethical responsibilities that come with using AI. While ChatGPT can assist in organizing thoughts and refining writing, it should never replace genuine analysis or original contribution. This experience emphasized for me the importance of transparency and honesty in research especially as technology becomes more integrated into academic work.
