Cognitivism/Constructivism
The learner actively constructs his or her own understandings of reality through acting upon and reflecting on experiences in the world. When a new object, event, or experience does not fit the learner's present knowing structures, a conflict is provoked that requires an active quest to restore a balance. Teachers facilitate environmental conditions and mediate experiences to support student learning.
Progressivism
Progressivists believe that education should focus on the child rather than the subject matter. The students' interests are important, as is integration of thinking, feeling, and doing. Learners should be active and learn to solve problems by experimenting and reflecting on their experience. Schools should help students develop personal and social values so that they can become thoughtful, productive citizens. Because society is always changing, new ideas are important to make the future better than the past.
Base on the activity this are my results that I do believe in that learning should focus on students because not merely on the subject matter because no matter what you teach your students if it is not focuses on the type of learner you have they will not learn, for example teaching 1st year nursing students medical surgical topic is not align because their concept is purely should be on the foundation first on what is nursing and basic concept about nursing. I always believe in experience is really the best teacher. Hands on learning is different from a classrom scenario. Students will not only learn skills and knowledge but also emotions and deeper understanding on the importance of the things that they are doing. In doing my clinical teaching it will not only focus in knowledge and skills but also reall life situations. I do believe Attitude is very important towards work and in doing your task and giving students hands on activities will make them learn not only the knowledge and skills they must possess but also the attitude they must have.
