Preferred Teaching Strategy

As a nurse educator, my preferred teaching-learning strategy is the Interactive Lecture. I believe that this approach not only delivers essential theoretical knowledge but also engages students by integrating real-life clinical experiences and scenarios. During my lectures, I encourage student participation by posing questions, using case studies, and sharing my personal encounters in the clinical setting. This strategy allows students to connect abstract concepts to practical applications, making learning more meaningful and memorable.

One unforgettable classroom experience I had as a nursing student involved acase-based group discussion on a complex patient with multiple psychiatric diagnoses. Our instructor used an interactive lecture format, pausing frequently to ask questions, prompt discussions, and share her own clinical stories. This activity helped me understand the interconnectedness of different conditions and how nurses can adapt care to meet individual needs.

The teaching-learning strategy used was a combination of Interactive Lecture and Case-Based Learning, which worked well for me because it encouraged critical thinking and helped bridge the gap between theory and practice. Listening to real clinical scenarios made the lesson more relatable and easier to retain. It also inspired me to adopt this strategy in my own teaching to foster deeper learning among my students.
