During my time as a thesis lecturer, a recurring issue arose concerning student compliance with data verification protocols, Specifically, a thesis adviser reported consistent delays and resistance from their advisees in submitting completed data collection instruments. This reluctance, often accompanied by inconsistent justifications, raised significant concenrsn about the validity and potential fabrication of the gathered data. Several factors likely contributed to this problem, including students' potential lack of understanding regarding data integrity, fear of criticism, time management challenges, and, in some cases, possible academic dishonesty. The research adviser and I, required students to submit a letter explaining the reasons for fabricating results of survey. And required them to resubmit their paper for proposal and ethical clearance.
