When I was a student, I was invited to be a speaker in a European country for a conference on HIV. I was so delighted, and I told my professor. When he saw the email, however, he had to tell me to not easily believe as some of these may come from "mafias". I was initially disappointed, but I am thankful now because his advice was all for my safety.
