Upon completion of the self-assessment, I scored the highest on both Progressivism and Humanism. Reflecting on how I am as a nurse educator, I believe that learning should be student-centered, active, reflective, and deeply personal, allowing students to develop not only clinical competence but also critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and compassion in patient care. Seeing myself as more inclined in these philosophies. I will emphasize active learning and problem-solving, allowing students to gain hands-on experience while reflecting on their emotions and decisions in patient care. Recognizing the diverse backgrounds of students, I will be sensitive to their needs and create a safe space for learning and growth. By acting as a facilitator rather than a lecturer, I will encourage students to explore, analyze, and apply their knowledge in real-world settings, preparing them for the challenges there is to the healthcare system. My teaching will also highlight the importance of values, responsibility, and ethical decision-making, shaping students into compassionate and competent nurses. Through flexible and adaptive teaching strategies, I will help them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills essential for patient care. I believe and I aim that my philosophy will empower students to become not only skilled professionals but also caring individuals who contribute meaningfully to their communities.
