Occipitofrontalis - elevates brows and moves scalp forward
Orbicularis oculi - closure of eyelids
Corrugator and procerus - forehead wrinkling
Buccinator - compresses cheeks against teeth
Levator anguli oris - elevates the angle of the mouth
Mechanism of Muscle Weakness
Bell’s Palsy is caused by the dysfunction of CN VII or the facial nerve which has motor, sensory, and parasympathetic components, innervating facial expression.
Other Symptoms: headache, tearing, loss of sense of taste on some parts of the mouth, hypersensitivity to sound
