  1. Throwing a baseball overhead
    1. Deltoids
      1. Action: Raise the shoulder, abducting the arm
      2. Innervation: Axillary nerve
    2. Trapezius
      1. Action: Side bending, rotation of the head, elevating and depressing the shoulders
      2. Innervation: Spinal accessory nerve (Cranial nerve XI)
  2. Kicking a ball
    1. Gluteus Maximus
      1. Action: Extension and external rotation, adduction and abduction of the thigh
      2. Innervation: Inferior gluteal nerve (L5-S2)
    2. Biceps Femoris
      1. Action: Thigh extension, knee flexion, and external rotation of both hip and leg
      2. Innervation: Long head is innervated by tibial portion of the sacral nerve (L5-S2); Short head is innervated by common fibular, or poroneal, division of the sacral nerve (L5-S2)

    1. Rectus Abdominus
      1. Action: Flexion of the trunk
      2. Innervation: Thoraco-abdominal nerves
