The challenges that we had observed and foresee in regard with clinical training of physical therapy interns in Community-Based Rehabilitation are the following:

  1. limited resources and budget for community programs and physical therapy services
  2. the distance of the adopted community located in SJDM, Bulacan from the CBR office located within FEU-NRMF
  3. the unpredictability of the weather when the interns are in the community
  4. lack of responsiveness of the beneficiaries
  5. lack of coordination with the point persons in the community
  6. the time given for community physical therapy services vs. the time allotted for other teaching-learning activities
  7. fluctuating number of patients in the community

Organizing and executing a community program is a very admirable pursuit. I admire the work and commitment of you team. Curious to know if the residents are computer literate and possibly responsive to remote activities for when the weather is uncooperative. Our students had to train via Zoom or Teams during the pandemic, and maybe the patients would be receptive to that kind of telemedicine as an alternative activity.
