Hello Classmates,

here are examples of my proposed learning outcomes to enhance our instruction of instruction on patient assessment. Feel free to comment. Thank you!

Perform with accuracy patient care assessment and vital signs collection within initial patient interface in both simulated and actual out-of-hospital medical/trauma scenario

Demonstrate familiarity with triage principles in prioritizing patients in a simulated mass casualty incident

Display situational safety awareness and communicate safety principles in performing initial assessment procedures in out-of-hospital emergency cases

The first outcome is expressed well.
The second one needs a more specific referent object to "demonstrate". Familiarity with triage principles is quite vague and may not really be observable and easily measured.
The third outcome features 2 behaviors. Make sure to limit to one behavior. If one is subsumed within the other, you need to decide which one to keep or to separate them if you feel both are 2 different outcomes.

Hello!
the first goal is constructed correctly, which follows the SMART and ABCD principles of goal-setting
the second goal however, demands the question, "How is familiarity measured?". this can be re-constructed in which specific skill that you want to see in the trainee that may show the aspect of familiarity
the third goal has two disciplines and can be divided into two goals. I suggest that you can use "Demonstrate" or "Perform" as the action word.

For the second, maybe -- correctly triage patients in a simulated mass casualty incident? Or discuss how triage principles are applied during a mass casualty incident? I think it will be hard to assess familiarity
