  1. How does the food change in consistency and form?

Chewing initiates mechanical breakdown, reducing it to smaller particles. In the stomach, food mixes with digestive juices, forming a semi-liquid mass called chyme. Enzymes break down the chyme into simpler ones for absorption in the small intestine. Water absorption occurs, and by the time it reaches the large intestine, water is absorbed, solidifying the remnants into feces. 


2. How could the body absorb the nutrients from the foods we eat? 

It is absorbed due to being continuously broken down by chewing, the digestive juices and different enzymes present in the stomach and small intestine. With this, it is absorbed via the small intestine
