In life, it is inevitable that we will be exposed to various microorganisms or antigens that may result in us being sick or feeling under the weather. A sickness we're familiar with is the common cold or a cough. However, this goes for major diseases as well such as the recent COVID-19 pandemic. Not everybody is fortunate enough to live through these conditions, yet medicine has taken a step in the right direction with the advancement of the humoral immunity response.  The humoral immunity response makes it so that our body produces specific antibodies for specific antigens and even catalogues the response for future exposures. Through knowing this information, we are able to utilize vaccines or promote actions such as breastfeeding for the battle against disease-caused deaths. Better yet, we are able to reduce the strain of these microorganisms through immunological memory which makes our body a fortress towards similar diseases.

As a student nurse, it is crucial to prioritize immunization. In the hospital setting, it is a given that sick patients will be relying on us to provide the healthcare that they need. And so, to minimize the health risks of the individuals involved would mean for myself and other nurses to be immune to these diseases perhaps through vaccinations. It is understandable that vaccinations are required for clinical duties because it is preparing for and promoting safe healthcare. Also, as a future healthcare professional, it is essential to promote vaccination and other immunization responses to other people while fighting movements against it such as the anti-vaccination movement.
