ACTIVITY 1

1. Smelling the coffee and hearing the alarm: These sensory perceptions involve the somatic sensory division of the nervous system. Somatic sensory nerves transmit information from sensory receptors in the skin and sensory organs to the central nervous system for processing.

2. Stretching and yawning: These are voluntary muscle movements and fall under the somatic motor division of the nervous system. Somatic motor nerves control skeletal muscles and are responsible for voluntary movements like stretching and yawning.

 3. Salivating: Salivation is an involuntary response controlled by the autonomic nervous system, specifically the parasympathetic division. The parasympathetic nervous system regulates rest-and-digest functions, including salivation.

 4. Stomach rumbling: The rumbling of the stomach is related to digestive processes and is controlled by the enteric nervous system, which is often considered a separate division but is also part of the autonomic nervous system. It operates independently to regulate digestive activities like peristalsis.
