To Test or Not to Test

Testing students' skills in the clinical setting can be challenging as to the criteria to use when grading them and biases may appear during the process. However, testing my unit of instruction outcomes and utilizing the appropriate testing method can indicate the student's readiness, efficiency, independence, and learning competencies (KSA) resulting in a holistic learner assessment. It can also serve as a guide on when to intervene in the process, what skills the students are good at, and when the student is left alone to do the work.
