AT THE END OF THEIR ROTATION, INTERNS ARE EXPECTED TO:

 1. Apply Occupational Therapy (OT) processes in various medical conditions with varying degrees of responsibilities
a.            Evaluate patients using appropriate OT assessments 
b.            Formulate treatment goals.
c.            Select appropriate treatment media
d.            Implement treatment program
e.            Analyze the efficiency of treatment.

 

2. Describe the various medical conditions commonly referred to OT.
a.            Recognize pertinent signs and symptoms of the different medical conditions
b.            Develop insight into the medical condition and relate goals/ aims to OT.

 

 

3. Develop the OT intern’s personality as a future clinician.
a.            Use-of-self effectively as a therapeutic medium.
b.            Contribute to own learning process as well as to peers.
c.            Recognize his roles and that of others as active integrate members of the rehabilitation team.

 

 

4. Develop the OT intern’s skills in verbal and written communication
a.            Write concise, complete and organized records and reports
b.            Deliver clear, concise and comprehensive reports.

 

5. Develop a professional attitude and a sense of responsibility towards patients, colleagues and to the institution/ organization
a.            develop effective traits and habits
b.            observe ethical standard performance

 

6. Accomplish organizational and administrative duties and responsibilities
a.            participate actively in the day-to-day administration of the OT section
b.            Familiarize oneself with the organizational and functional structure of the section and the department.
