What major challenge do you think you will encounter in applying what you have learned from anatomy?
Upon reflecting on my current studying routines, I think that the most challenging part of applying the anatomy lessons is in the area of medical intervention. For the most part, after going through the study materials, I tried to read the chapters in Tortora. The primary benefit of going through the book is learning about the different medical conditions and cases in each of the topics under each chapter. If I would be able to attend to actual nursing duties, I think that recalling the relevant medical applications in the book might be hard to perform. As someone who is trying to learn how to be a nurse, I think one of the special areas I need to focus on early on is how to perform appropriate medical interventions. In my opinion, the most essential part of attaining knowledge is successfully using and applying it.
What are your plans to overcome this challenge?
- I would want to create a collection of questions and answers all related to clinical/medical applications of the learnings from the Tortora Book.
- I would want to perform spaced repetition in my future vacations as a way to maintain the knowledge.
- I would want to from time to time remember to apply the learnings I had whenever the opportunity is given. Opportunities can be any of the following and similar forms;
- Taking care of a family member
- Taking care of my friends
- Participating in conversations about clinical/medical interventions.
