Choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept and cite how you would apply this learning in your everyday life.

Seeking insight into the true nature of things expel illumination to the perceptions deeply engraved in the dimmed world. As the fullness of hooks to supply has been unlocked, the lesson that has piqued my interest most is immunity.

Health dictates how we function and live our lives. However, in the most unforeseen circumstances, diseases and injuries may be spawned by a barrage of factors which cause its emergence to be eminent. A complex biological system having the ability to identify and accept what is familiar and to recognize and reject what is foreign is said to have immunity. Like a bank, our body has security guards, hired to conduct surveillance to prevent invaders from coming in. Whereas, a successful attempt of invasion triggers an alarm system which recognizes foreign particles like bacteria, viruses, and parasites and takes immediate action.

Applying the concept to the present, ever since the COVID-19 pandemic emerged in the midst of the whirlwind of life changes, humans have found themselves facing a common enemy, posing far-reaching threats to humanity which have reverberated consequences to the mere future. Excess mortality was not actionable as certainty became the cheaper way out to the indefatigable force pressing humans into the lairs of uncertainty. The evolving nature of this crisis has accentuated the manner in which diverse communities all around the globe have been hastily mobilized to address the emerging needs of those in an imaginary line of threshold separating the haves from the have-nots.

Weak immunity was not able to withstand the assaults of the pandemic. While there were efforts to change the curb of the transmission of the virus, they may have had some minor adverse effects, such as a deficiency in vitamin D, less exercise, and higher stress, which all contributed to the debilitation of the immune system, as stated by Woodruff (2014). Although imprints of pandemic are still in the blueprint of havoc, victory is already visible on the horizon of a distant frontier as signs of revolutionary hope are now appearing elsewhere in the world–that a restoration to something resembling normal might be in sight. Getting vaccinated aid in the quicker and more efficient defense against illnesses by the immune system. A vaccination activates the immune system, enabling the body in warding off and remembering the pathogen so it can combat it if it ever invades again. Immunity has been an arduous conquest as it has been rare to hunt for unusual breakthroughs, knowing that novelty is difficult to come by. With the pandemic being debilitated by piles of discoveries acquired all throughout the years, the common descent of struggle must continually be recognized to rise to the occasion. Demonstration of the rational grasp of human nature will constrain the realization of one’s avowed goals which eventually lie in the extinction of the conditioned fears.
