Briefly describe the process of inflammation in an area that has been traumatized.
-
When a tissue has been damaged, inflammation occurs as a nonspecific, defense response of the body. Redness, pain, heat, and swelling are characteristic effects and symptoms of inflammation at work. To keep the site of injury maintained, inflammation disposes microbes, toxins, and foreign materials from the body. The three basic stages of inflammation are: vasodilation of arterioles and increased permeability of blood vessels, emigration (movement) of phagocytes from the blood into interstitial fluid, and then tissue repair.

Choose one type of Immunity (Innate and Humoral) and explain how its mechanism protects our body.
-
Innate immunity is the type of immunity that you are born with to protect you from antigens. As it is nonspecific, it responds the same way to all injuries or foreign germs. It includes protection offered by our skin, which is composed of physical and chemical barriers that defend us from bacteria, and protection offered by our immune system cells.
