When we say a gene is expressing itself in relation to protein synthesis, since there is a distinct “code” for each type of protein, the gene expression is when the RNA with the genetic code is being paired with its corresponding bond and would result in creating amino acids and finally a protein. Every code is unique and would correspond to a unique type of protein, depending on its “code” that had been expressed during the translation and transcription part of the process.
