What is the importance of studying organs or the body at different planes and sections?

Anatomy and physiology, as we all know, are the studies of the structure and function of the body, respectively. With that being said, it is imperative that in studying the body and its different parts, we know the anatomical position and the different planes and sections. This is due to the fact that when these planes and sections of the body are used in conjunction with studying the said body, we would be able to accurately describe the structure that we are studying not only to ourselves but also to those around us.

To add, studying the organs or the body at different planes and sections would allow us to have an overall glimpse and understanding of what happens all around, and not just in a specific view. Division of the body at different planes and sections would allow us to see the body’s internal organs and identify smaller structures within said organs. This gives us students a spatial and visualization advantage in studying anatomy.
