What is the importance of studying organs or the body at different planes and sections?
In order to observe and study the structural arrangements and placements of the different organs of the body, it is divided into planes and sections that are used in human and animal anatomy. It helps us understand the various ways in which the body can be viewed when cut into sections. These regions also aid us in understanding their functions, in relation to their locations within the body. Through these planes and sections, when we describe the region where we feel discomfort in the body during consultations, healthcare workers will have a general idea about it, easily identify and narrow down the possibilities and give proper attention and medication to them. For instance, the region of the peritoneal cavity to be opened up in case of surgery needed to an organ in this cavity may be specified, which may help in lessening the repercussions and recovery time.
