1. What are the organs that constitute each of the organ-systems above? 

  • Integumentary system- skin, hair, nails, glands ( Sudoriferous, Sebaceous, Ceruminous), sensory nerves
  • Skeletal system- bones, joints, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons 
  • Muscular system- Visceral (smooth) tissue, Cardiac tissue and Skeletal tissue 
  • Nervous system- nerves, spinal cord, and brain  
  • Endocrine system- hypothalamus, pituitary gland, pituitary gland, pineal gland, thyroid and parathyroid gland, adrenal gland, thymus, pancreas, ovaries, and testes
  • Cardiovascular system- heart, blood vessels, and blood 
  • Lymphatic system- bone marrow, spleen, thymus, lymph nodes, and lymphatic vessels
  • Respiratory system- lungs, nose, mouth, throat (pharynx), voice box (larynx), windpipe (trachea) airways (bronchi)
  • Digestive system- mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, colon, rectum, and anus
  • Urinary system- Kidneys, renal pelvis, ureters, bladder, and urethra
  • Reproductive system
    • Female- ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix and vagina
    • Male- prostate, testes, and penis

2. Which organ systems function to regulate acid-base balance in body fluid? 

  • Acid-base balance requires the cooperation of three major organs: Liver, kidneys and lungs. With those 3 organs, the organs systems are the Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Urinary system.
