With the alarming rise teenage pregnancies, sexually-transmitted diseases, and sexual exploitations, I believe it is imperative to implement sex education in public elementary and high schools. The target population for this matter would be the adolescents and young adults who are undergoing a lot of changes holistically. When these young individuals are given proper information, they can make informed choices, avoid reckless decisions, and be able to protect themselves better.

If implemented properly, sex education can also help these adolescents and young adults in building their personalities, as well as in strengthening their emotional and social relationships with other people. However, there are a lot of external factors which could influence the implementation of sex education and put its constituents at a disadvantage. For instance, the views of several religions (ie., Catholics) on sex education may oppose its implementation and hinder it from attaining its health goals. Without proper implementation of sex education, the topic of sexual health remains a taboo.

Honestly, I cannot see sex education being promoted in elementary schools here in our locality because even in secondary and tertiary education, its implementation still necessitates improvement and support. However, I do hope that it would push through as implementing sex education will greatly contribute to our society.
