Many students have commented that it has become more difficult to do group projects amid the pandemic. Either group mates don't have a common time because of household responsibilities or not everyone can get a good wifi connection at the same time. What are your tips to make group work in a remote learning setting easier?
Good day po! I agree that it has been much more difficult to do group works during the pandemic. I think it is important to realize that not everyone is in the same situation as yourself. It's good to be a bit more understanding when someone cannot contribute as much or reply as often. Some tips to facilitate remote learning with group works is to break down the output into a list of deliverables. Each deliverable can also be given a simple work description such as if it can be done asynchronously or if it needs certain skills. Then, each person or small group can pick what they are most comfortable doing. This doesn't always make online group works easier but it can make it more manageable for the group!
I totally agree with your points Daniel! I think our class is able to adapt slowly with online group works. We use the same system as well!
Hi Ma'am! With regards to group projects done during the pandemic and online platform, I agree it posed difficulties to most students. I think it was hard to communicate also the deliverables at hand since one of the cons of online learning is its immediacy. In my opinion, it's important to give one another the benefit of the doubt is to why some groupmates are not responding nor doing their said tasks (probably wifi problems as well). In my group, we use a tracker with a list of deliverables/skill set needed for the activity we have to accomplish. My groupmates will then fill-in the tasks they think they can deliver. Randomization also works for some if no one is also up for the task. In the end also, it's really about compromising and stepping up also!
