FINAL OUTPUT GUIDE

HP 223: Clinical Teaching and Evaluation of Clinical Competence

Task

For your final examination for this course, you will integrate your outputs into one cohesive paper.  You will notice that most of the parts in the paper are outputs from past assignments, so you won’t really be starting from scratch.  But remember that this is not just a collection of outputs wherein you will just cut and paste from your previous outputs to put together in one document.  You would need to write it out so that it flows and are integrated well to show a cohesive instructional design process that culminates in the development of an instructional plan for your chosen clinical unit of instruction.

Procedure

1. Review your previous outputs in the course and integrate them into a cohesive paper following this format:

  1. INTRODUCTION

Design Framework

  • Discuss the philosophical and theoretical framework of your design.

  1. INSTRUCTIONAL ANALYSIS
    1. Learning Context
  • Describe the context in your clinical setting.  Describe comprehensively, the unit of instruction, the learning environment, including the learners.
  1. Foci of Experience
  • Describe your foci of experience in 1-3 statements.
  1. Learning Outcomes
  • List learning outcomes appropriate to the learning context

  1. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES

Teaching Strategies

  • Identify and list down the most appropriate teaching strategies you intend to use based on your outcomes, appropriate to the learning context.
  • Describe each strategy in terms of the following:
    • Resources needed
    • Time allotment
    • Possible alternative strategies

  1. EVALUATION
  • List and discuss comprehensively the assessment method/s to be used.  Justify the appropriateness of each method given the strategies, outcomes, foci of experience, and learning context.  Discuss the process of evaluation.
  • Discuss the tools to be used.  Provide at least ONE (1) example of these tools. Include instructions on how to use them.
  • Discuss the grading system and how results will be used to help students improve (assessment FOR learning).
