Course Description
Concepts, research and development in teacher evaluation in the health professions with emphasis on methods of evaluation feedback for improvement of instruction.
Credit: 2 units

Aim of the Course:
At the end of the course the students should have developed a Faculty Assessment program for their respective institutions.
Course ILO
After completing this course, you should be able to—
- Effectively present a teacher evaluation plan in written and oral form
- Appreciate the contributions of different teacher evaluation paradigms in addressing cultural and ethical issues in health professions education
- Identify significant teacher roles and professional activities that must be evaluated
- Provide critical inputs in the development of a teacher evaluation plan
- Formulate a technically sound teacher evaluation plan
- Implement a teacher evaluation plan
- Present the results of a teacher evaluation project to relevant stakeholders
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to discuss basic concepts, principles, and theories in teacher evaluation in health professions education
