Quick Exercise 4: Guide
To help you visualize and better understand transcription and translation, please go through this activity.
1. Go to this link: https://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/basics/txtl/ . You should then be directed to this page. This activity does not require any installation, however, this is not compatible with the Firefox browser.
Click the screen to start.
2. Play through the video and gather information. After, you will be asked to choose a gene to transcribe and translate. You have 3 options to choose from.
Choose one gene. You will see this icon 
for clickable components.
3. Go through the transcription video and transcribe the DNA sequence.
✍🏼 Write down the DNA sequence and the matching RNA sequence produced.
📸 Take a screenshot of the activity.
4. Go through the translation video and try translating the mRNA.
✍🏼 Write down the mRNA sequence and amino acid sequence produced.
📸 Take a screenshot of the activity.
✍🏼 Take note of the name of the final protein product.
5. Submit the sequences and the screenshots in the assignment portal.
