Day 07 (Wednesday):
TEACHING-LEARNING ACTIVITIES/COMMUNITY MEDICINE LEARNING SERIES:
8:00AM to 11:00AM:
- The Primary Health Care Approach Part 1 (asynchronous/protected time lecture recording viewing)
🎗 The Intern-learners are expected to have accomplished the pre-work prior to the conduct of the synchronous session. This means having read the original Alma Ata Declaration of Primary Health Care (1978) as well as the Astana Declaration (2018). They are also supposed to have watched the Introduction to Social Determinants video on YouTube. The intern-learners should then reflect on the relationships, dynamics, etc. that the 3 sources have given to formulate their own baseline appreciation of Primary Health Care; both as concept and as real-life/world framework. Thus they are enabled to further contextualize and nuance PHC as they view the recorded lecture and attend the synchronous processing that follows.

- The Primary Health Care Approach Part 2 (synchronous Zoom processing w/ Dr. Medina)
2:00PM to 4:00PM
- Community Organizing and Community Development (Synchronous Zoom Session) w/ Dr. Hamoy
- "The Raining Rocks Activity/Workshop"
🎗 The FCH 260.2 Intern-learner is expected to have done the pre-work for the CO-CD Session with Dr. Hamoy. This means having watched the documentary excerpt "Diagnosing Poverty" and having read the document "Theoretical Concepts and Practice of Community Medicine". The two resources would offer up context and nuance to the synchronous workshop/activity facilitated by Dr. Hamoy at 2-4PM. Dr. Hamoy's session is primarily a "formative" one and the interns are enjoined to participate actively in the synchronous CO-CD session which may be in workshop format.
