In this day and age when information is freely available and rapidly produced, it is important that we are able to find and retrieve the right information to help us solve the clinical dilemmas that we encounter in clinical practice when we need it.  To do this, we need to develop three specific skills: 

1.  asking a focused clinical question;

2.  searching the medical literature;

3.  retrieving the medical literature.
