As I respond to the Educational Philosophies Self-Assessment questionnaire, the outcome that I obtain is, 76 as the highest score at scale of 4 as Agree, followed by 25 at scale of 5 as Strongly Agree. As the tool provided the identified educational philosophy and psychological orientation, my results are more aligned with Progressivism and Constructivism, based on the distribution and scoring patterns which is largely of 4 and 5.
Progressivism as described concentrates on learning is student-centered and experience-based. It focuses on problem-solving, stimulating critical thinking, and promotes active learning. Constructivism as my psychological orientation as explained believes that the students actively construct their own comprehension. It encourages collaborative learning, reflection, and integration of prior knowledge.
As a faculty, I consider encouraging my students to be active participants in their own learning process. I value and promote critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving. I am certain of designing and preparing lessons that are significant to actual nursing practice. Lastly, I believe that the inclusion of flexibility, adaptability, and reflection in our teaching strategies is necessary.
