The authenticity of your description of the clinical environment resounds well with my experience. Not all clinical environments are the same and some areas can be considered as an extra challenging clinical area compared to others. When inequalities in health care system presents itself right in front of the student learners, the crucial role of the clinical instructor should be there to remain adherent to the learning outcomes of the exposure. Both the clinical instructor and the student adapts to the challenges in the area and maximizes learning opportunities when the odds are great. It is where the professional attitude and work ethic is challenged and developed most.
